EDEN’S HOLIDAY VISIT
No Date Yet Fixed For Departure
(New Zealand Press Association) WELLINGTON, March 19. No date has been fixed for Sir Anthony Eden’s departure from New Zealand, said the Prime Minister (Mr Holland) this evening.
When Sir Anthony Eden’s plans for a New Zealand holiday were announced it was said that he and Lady Eden would stay about a month. Sir Anthony and Lady Eden have now been here almost a month.
Sir Anthony Eden was telephoned when the British Secretary of State for Commonwealth Relations (the Earl of Home) called at Mr Holland’s office this morning for defence and other talks. Lord Home also spoke to his former chief.
“Sir Anthony Eden told me his doctors were satisfied with his progress,” said Mr Holland. “Altogether he is enjoying himself and the rest. Both Sir Anthony Eden and Lady Eden are very comfortable at Otehei Bay. Lady Eden is enjoying her first trip to New Zealand.” The Prime Minister added that Sir Anthony Eden’s voice sounded stronger over the telephone. Sir Anthony Eden said that he and his wife were swimming and taking regular walks.
