SEARCH FOR “FIRE BUGS”
Auckland Police Investigations (New Zealand Press Association) AUCKLAND. March 3. Auckland detectives were busy tonight searching for arson suspects. Firemen and the police believe that some trees in Cornwall Park were deliberatly set alight last night. No serious damage was done. On Friday night, the Chief Fire Officer (Mr G. Drummond) said that “fire bugs” seemed to be at work. He named three fires ebout which there were suspicious circumstances. Detectives today confirmed Mr Drummond's opinion.
