MEETING FOR SCHOOLS
Great Enthusiasm Shown More than three hours of almost continuous athletic events brought out the enthusiasm of nearly 300 primary school children at Rugby Park on Saturday morning. At the close of competition children were still asking officials for more events and if they could come back in the afternoon. It was the first primary schools’ athletic meeting organised by the Canterbury Centre of the New Zealand Amateur Athletic Association. The response and enthusiasm shown by the competitors was reward for the officials and organising committee headed by Messrs R. Linton, D. D. Leech, F. Carter and P. R. May. Because of the unqualified success of the meeting it was announced that another would be held on March 16.
