LOST PROPERTY
Sir.—l sympathise with “Traveller" in her loss. I received a letter from my daughter on Thursday telling me she had collected her child allowance for the month, made some purchases in a shop, and, on reaching home, found her purse missing, containing over £l3. The loss has been , advertised and notified to the police. Eight days have passed, so there is little hope of recovery. She has been ’hoping to fit the eldest boy out in new clothes for secondary school. Why does not the finder take a reward and at least return some to this mother of five children. She writes: “I cannot sleep or eat. being worried at my loss.” She is a real housewife and good mother, while some heartless person cares not —Yours, etc. GRAN. January 17, 1957.
