(N.Z. Press Association—Copyright) LONDON. January 16.

Britain has asked the Swiss Government to make urgent inquiries in Cairo about the reported Egyptian nationalisation of British and French banks and insurance companies, the Foreign Office spokesman said today. The Swiss Government has acted as protecting Power for Britain in Egypt since the breach in relations between the two countries last year.
