NINE INJURED IN COLLISION

(New Zealand Press Association) AUCKLAND, January 17.

Eight adults and one child were injured in a head-on collision between two cars on the Great South road at Westfield at 10.45 tonight. Ambulances rushed the injured to Middlemore Hospital. At a late hour the names of the injured were not known.

Mr C. Shortland, of Glen Innes, who witnessed the accident, described it as “the most terrific crash I have ever seen.’’ He had to break his way into one car to get a boy and three other occupants out.
