The 14-year-old New Zealand-bred Sandydale gelding. Captain Sandy, is one of 13 entries from New South Wales for the Inter-Dominion Championship series, which will be run at Gloucester Park, Perth, starting on February 20. Captain Sandy won the series in Melbourne in 1950, and in Perth in 1953. The total entry of 68 is a record. They include 31 from Western Australia. nine from Victoria, eight from South Australia and seven from New Zealand. Gentleman John, winner of the final at Harold Park last season, has been entered again, as has the runner-up, Mineral Spring.
