The Hawera five-year-old Highland Nectar, was a decisive winner of the Walter Weston Handicap, the main event and first leg of the double on the opening day of the Taranaki Jockey Club's Christmas meeting at New Plymouth today. The second leg, the Flying Handicap, was won . by the Takanini visitor, Inimitable, 1 which narrowly beat Lucky Glow. J The double return for £1 was £B6 ; 12s 6d.
