Estonian Appeal To United Nations fN.Z. Press Association—Copyright) (Rec. 8 p.m.) STOCKHOLM, Dec. 22. The Estonian National Council representing Estonian refugees throughout the world, has appealed to the United Nations General Secretary, Mr Hammarskjold, to stop the deportation of Estonians to Soviet Russia, the council’s chairman, Mr August Rei, said at a press conference. The appeal said that plans had been made to deport 100,000 Estonians. Latvians and Lithuanians to Soviet Russia next year. Of the 100.000 about 20,000 are said to be Estonians. The appeal claimed that some 2000 Estonian young men and women had been deported during the last two years. Mr Rei said that there had been no open revolt in Estonia but young people were turning their backs on Communist ideology, especially in the universities.
