CHILD KILLED
SIX INJURED WHEN CAR CAPSIZES (New Zealand Press Association) WANGANUI. December 23. A child was killed and six other children were injured when a car capsized on Friday night on Anzac parade. Six in the car were sons or daughters of Mr and Mrs Riini Rerekura, of Kukuta. Matthew Rerekura, aged six, was found to be dead when the ambulance arrived at the hospital. Five other brothers and sisters of the Rerekura family are in hospital— Janet, aged 15. driver of the car, Michael, aged 13, Luke, aged 10. Pat, aged seven, and John, aged two. The condition of all the injured children is satisfactory. Adam Bishop, aged eight, also of Kukuta, with extensive injuries to the right elbow and abrasions to the right elbow and abrasions and cuts, was stated to be fairly comfortable. The right-hand wheel of the car came loose, and the vehicle slewed right, then left, before rolling over.
