PIRIE TO LIVE IN PETONE
(New Zealand Press Association) WELLINGTON, Dec. 23. The noted British distance runner, Gordon Pirie, who is to live in New Zealand, will make his home first in Petone—even if only temporarily. He has accepted an offer of accommodation arranged for him and his wife by Mr L Smith, a well-known official of the Petone Amateur Athletic and Cycling Club. In a letter to Mr Smith, Pirie said that he and his wife were booked to leave Sydney by ship in January, but it was possible that other transport would be provided to enable him to arrive earlier and compete at a meeting scheduled for Palmerston North on January 26.
