Called “in-flight lunches,” they contain rations to provide two meals for 12 hours. They are complete with can opener, napkin and spoon. One such packet contains in tins fried ham, pineapple, pound or plain cake, bread, coffee, tea, sugar, cream, and chewing gum. Although me service is not available in New Zealand the United States Air Force also has a department which provides fresh “in-flight lunches” for flyers.
