(Rec. 11.30 p.m.) PORT SAID, December 21. fhe Allied naval task force commander, ViceAdnmal L. K Durnford-Slater, said today that all crews of the British salvage fleet at Port Said' had agreed to remain for clearance work after the withdrawal of the Allied forces.

The salvage fleet of 10 British ships will pull into one side of the outer harbour for the first few days after the withdrawal to be cut of range of rifle fire from the shore.
Lieutenant-General Raymond Wheeler, the United Nations expert supervising the clearance of the canal, said today that plans were ready for beginning the work “immediately after the evacuation.
