Damages For Engineer “Sent To Coventry”
(N.Z.P. A—Reuter—Copyright) LONDON, December 20. The High Court today awarded £5OO damages to an engineer who alleged he had been ‘‘sent to Coventry” by his workmates for refusing to join in a 24-hour token strike in December, 1953.
Lesley Huntley sued local officers of the Amalgamated Engineering Union for damages for conspiracy and wrongful interference with his employment. * The Judge said that he would give Huntley leave to move for an injunction restraining the union’s officers from wrongfully interfering with him obtaining or retaining employment as an engineer if further victimisation, required it.
