New N.Z. Appointment At Bracknell (N.Z. Press Association—Copyright) (Rec. 8 p.m.) LONDON, December 18. Three New Zealanders have followed one another as commandant of the Royal Air Force Staff College at Bracknell, Berkshire. The Air Ministry has announced the appointment from January 1, as commandant, of Air Commodore S. C. Elworthy, of Timaru, with the acting rank of Air Vice-Marshal. He succeeds Acting Air Vice-Mar-shal Roy Faville, of Christchurch, who becomes air officer commanding No. 22 Group, Technical Training Command. Both followed as commandant Air Vice-Marshal D. H. Barnett, of Christchurch, now air officer commanding No. 205 Group in the Middle East Air Force, who was in charge of the air forces dufing the Suez operation. Air Commodore Elworthy has been attached to the Air Ministry since 1949. Air Vice-Marshal Faville has been commandant of the staff college for the last five months. He led a 40,000-mile flight by four Shackletons to Australia, New Zealand, and Fiji in 1954.
