CHRISTMAS
Sir.—l listened to the Christmas addresses to the pupils of the Correspondence School this morning. One of the speakers even told the pupils to throw national pride aside, when considering their relationships with members of other nations, so that “peace on earth’’ might have a foundation upon which to build a world without war! Was this address, delivered in lighter mood under the emotion of Christmas, or could we look forward in the hope that a more intelligent national relationship can find its cradle among the cattleexporting (Jesus was born in the stables) farmers of New Zealand. With a new nation exploding again to New Zealand, uprooted from their soil by Russian bombs, we could proudly call New Zealand the homeland of the
