MARCIANO DEFINITELY RETIRED (N.Z. Press Association—Copyright) NEW YORK, December 18. Rocky Marciano, who retired undefeated as world heavy-weight boxing champion, would not return to the ring if he were offered 1,000,000 dollars tomorrow to do so, he said last night. Appearing in a television show, Marciano denied rumours that he might return to the ring to fight his successor, Floyd Patterson, next June. Marciano explained that he has no “financial difficulties” now, and said that he owes it to his family to remain in retirement. WATERMAN RETAINS TITLE (N.Z.
