SQUADRON LEADER A. S. TIE

WIDOW TO RETURN TO N.Z. THIS WEEK (New Zealand Press Association) WELLINGTON, December 17. The widow and four children of Squadron Leader A. S. Tie (Wellington) are to return from the Far East to New Zealand this week. Squadron Leader Tie. who commanded No. 41 (Transport) Squadron of the Royal New Zealand Air Force in Singapore, died with eight other men when an aircraft he was piloting crashed in Malaya last Monday. Mrs Tie and her children will leave Singapore in a R.N.Z.A.F. Hastings transport aircraft on Wednesday and are expected to arrive in Auckland the next evening. From Auckland they will be flown to Paraparaumu in a R.N.Z.A.F. Devon. Their home is in Karori. Wellington.

They will be accompanied on the flight from the R.A.F. station at Changi (Singapore) to Paraparaumu by a R.N.Z.A.F. nursing sister.
