NORTHERN DISTRICTS TEAM
(New Zealand Press Association) HAMILTON, December 17. After a two-day trial match of players from Waikato, Northland, Thames Valley, Bay of Plenty and Poverty Bay at Hamilton, the sole selector for the Northern Districts Cricket Association .has named 14 players to play in the Plunket Shield series. In the trial match, J. L. Wyatt (Northland) made a fine century and D. B. Clarke, the former Auckland fast bowler and Waikato and All Black full-back, bowled 19 overs, taking one wicket for 46 runs. His knee is rapidly improving. The players named are: C. Petrie (captain), J. K. Everest, D. B. Clarke, Allan Lissette. D. C. Hoskin. P. H. Smith. N. Puna, D. J. Gray (Waikato), J. L. Wyatt (North Auckland), L. Hough, B. Graham (Poverty Bay). M. Langdon, D. Ferrow (Bay of Plenty), T. E. Shaw (Thames Valley). E. Child (North Auckland) was not available. The manager of the team is Mr J. A. Green.
