ACCIDENTS FALL FROM ROOF

MAN SUFFERS FATAL INJURIES

A man fell from the roof of a building being erected in Kilmore street for New Zealand Newspapers, LtcL yesterday morning, and suffered injuries from which he died. He was: Frank Robert MeWatt, aged 44, a married man. with three children.

About 11.30 a.m. Mr MeWatt, who was working on the roof, moved on to a sheet of roofing iron which gave way, and he fell to the concrete floor 30 feet below, suffering severe head injuries. He was taken by ambulance to the Christchurch Public Hospital bur died soon after admission.

An inquest, for identification purposes, will be opened this morning before the Coroner. Mr E. B. E. Tavlor.
