INSULATED WAGGONS FOR RAILWAYS
N.Z. TO USE AUSTRALIAN DESIGN
(New Zealand Press Association) WELLINGTON, December 12. An Australian company will design a new type of insulated waggon for the New Zealand railways, says the railways department's staff bulletin. The new waggons will be all steel and are expected to be easier to maintain than the present vehicles.
Tenders will be called throughout the world for the construction and delivery of the waggons. They will be part of the 1955-58 rolling stock programme, announced in October 1954, which includes 100 bogie and 150 fourwheel insulated waggons.
