REVOLT IN VIETNAM

(N.Z. Press Association—Copyright) (Rec. 11.40 p.m.) SAIGON, Nov. 17. Order has now been restored after a rebellion which broke out in tha North Vietnam province of Nghe An, 200 miles south of Hanoi, this week, according to the Communist Vietnam news agency in Hanoi today. The rebellion, which broke out on Tuesday, was caused by dissatisfaction among farmers because of the bad application of North Vietnam's agrarian reform programme, the agency said. '“ln the last few days a group of reactionaries” in several villages of the area sought to “arouse dissatisfaction, endanger the peace and public safety, and wreck the property of certain compatriots,” it said.

“Cadres and troops stationed there, and co who tried to argue with them, were manhandled. This ended in a clash in which some persons were killed and wounded, including soldiers,” the agency added.
