CHILDREN’S PET POISONED
Scotch Terrier Found
Dying
“It is not a very bright Sunday morning here.” said Mr G. E. Gray, of 143 Clyde road, when he telephoned “The Press” yesterday morning to report the death during the night from poisoning of a two-and-a-half-year-old Scotch terrier. The little dog, known as Kilts, was the pet of Mr Gray’s three children— Etienne, aged 11 years. Kristi, aged eight years, and Tiffany, aged six and a half years—and Mrs Gray. When the Gray family returned home about 9 p.m. on Saturday they could not find Kilts. The dog was left in the backyard, from which he could not have escaped. When he made a final search for the dog about 11 p.m. Mr Gray found him in grass at the back of the garage in a low state He was immediately taken to a veterinarian for treatment but he died during the night. Mr Gray said he believed the dog was poisoned purposely. The bait must have been thrown into the yard in which the dog was enclosed. “It is a dirty low trick.” he said.
