Mr R. L. W. Averill, who recently returned to Christchurch after three years’ study at Cambridge University on a bursary from the New Zealand Wool Board, has received notice from the university’s board of research studies that his thesis on "Studies in the Fertility of the FAve” has been accepted for the degree of doctor of philosophy. Mr Averill is the son of Mrs Walter Averill, of St. Albans, and the late Archdeacon W. W. AverilL
