CHEVIOT TRUST HOTEL

Sir.—lt seems a pity that the Cheviot Hotel Trust is unable to raise the necessary finance to erect a hotel in Cheviot. I feel that the money could have been raised in Cheviot if the trust had only given more publicity to its problems and decisions, instead of acting like a secret society. Even now no announcement has been made about the non-erection of the hotel. Residents have to depend on the local grapevine.—Yours, etc., UNCLE. Cheviot. October 14. 1956. [“The Trust decided some years ago not to reply to anonymous correspondents, but if the correspondent writes under his own name to the editor of “The Press” or to th& trust, the information will be given to him,” said the chairman, Mr W. N. Maxwell.]
