(New Zealand Press Association) WELLINGTON. July 5. The New Zealand Maori Rugby team, which concluded its four-match tour in the South Island against the Mid-Canter-bury-North Otago-South Canterbury team at Timaru yesterday, returned to Wellington this morning. where it disbanded.
The team was met by various officials, including the secretary of the New Zealand Rugby Football Union (Mr G. H. Geddes).
The managers of the Maori team. Messrs T. French (Auckland) and T. Anderson (Bay of Plenty) both expressed satisfaction with the tour, which they described as enjoyable and successful.
The members of the team were all reported fit and in great heart for their game with the South Africans at Auckland on August 25.
It is possible that many of them will get a further run together before then, as a match between the Barbarians and a Maori team is to be held soon.
Players said that W. N. Gray was in every way the complete captain.
