ENGLISH POTATO SHORTAGE

New Zealand is not alone in its potato shortage this year, for English supplies also are well below the usual. In fact, the shortage in England is described as the worst for 25 years, and has resulted in the importation of large quantities from Europe. The price for these is reported to be about £4O a ton. so this is fairly much the same as the price ruling in New Zealand at present. Many of the potatoes being sent to England are grown in Holland.
