£75 AN ACRE FOR ASHLEY FARM
£75 an acre was paid for a mixed farm property of 160 acres at Ashley, on account of Mr S. G. Browne, at an auction held at Rangiora yesterday. The property, which has had 400 tons of lime sown on it in the last four years, consists of black agricultural soil subdivided into 11 paddocks and is situated three miles from Rangiora. It has a home of six main rooms, garage, and outbuildings. Bidding commenced at £55 an acre and rose in bids of £5 to £7O. followed by bids of £1 each to £72. and 10s bids to £74 10s, with two of 5s each to reach the final figure.
