Special Training For Unemployed
(From a Reuter Correspondent) BRUSSELS Belgium’s 140.000 unemployed can now be trained for semi-skilled jobs in the building industry at 29 technical schools throughout the country. The “students” receive unemployment pay. plus 5s a day during training. and a bonus of about £6 when thev qualify. The government claims that 80 per cent, of the students are successful in their final examinations after four or five months at school. Some 20.000 unemployed Belgian.? have been trained in this way since the end of World War 11.
