ACCIDENTS CAUSE MOST CHILD DEATHS

GENEVA—A recent report published bv the World Health Organisation indicates that accidents cause more deaths than disease among children and adolescents. Apart from transport accidents, the most frequent causes of death in the countries surveyed were falls, drowning fire and explosions and poisonin that order. Children from 1 to 4 are the main victims of poisoning and burns, the age group 15 to 40 is most liable to machine accidents and that from 15 to 2d to accidents from firearms.
