After much unsettled weather the going will be soft for the opening day of the Hawke’s Bay Jockey Club’s winter meeting at Hastings tomorrow. The double is on the Winter Handicap •nd the Mahora Handicap. EGMONT CLUB “The Press” Special Service WELLINGTON, June 22. The stablemates, Siphon and Domitare which are trained at Stratford by W. W. Philp for Mr C. W. Ansford. have good prospects of winning the double on the opening day of the Egmont Racing Club’s winter meeting at Hawera tomorrow. Siphon was a double winner at Te Rapa last month, and Domitare’s two starts in open company have produced a win and a narrow defeat at Wanganui by Rutillant, which went on to win at Manawatu. The double races are the Mcßae Handicap and the Hawera Handicap. There has been much rain in the district and the going will be heavy.
