PROPOSED TOUR BY FIJIAN TEAM
N.Z. UNION TO OFFER FINANCIAL AID (New Zealand Press Association) WELLINGTON. June 22. Financial aid will be offered by the New Zealand Rugby Union to the Fijian Union toward the suggested tour of the Dominion next year. When the tour was under discussion at the meeting of the council of the New Zealand Union today, a letter was read from the Fiji Union suggesting a contribution toward outfitting and assembling the team, and a share of the tour profits. Mr M. R. Love said Fiji had only one charge ground and had little chance of building up reserves. The meeting decided to ask Fiji to furnish an estimate of costs and to inform them that New Zealand would favourably consider meeting them.
