WOOLLEN FABRIC IMPORTS
ARRANGEMENTS FOR EXTRA LICENCES (New Zealand Press Association) WELLINGTON, June 19. “Since the reimposition of control over woollen piecegoods last October, it has been possible to assess more fully the requirements of traders and manufacturers, and the extent to which licences are required to supplement purchases from domestic woollen mills?’ said the Minister of Industries and Commerce (Mr E. H. Halstead) today. “As a result of this assessment, arrangements have been made for limited additional 1956 licences to be issued to those traders and manufacturers who find that supplies available to them from domestic mills and the licences already granted are insufficient to meet 1956 requirements. “Traders and manufacturers in this category who have not already done so should lodge another application in the usual manner through the Collector of Customs,” the Minister concluded.
