HIGH COUNTRY RESEARCH
STATION AT TARRA HILLS URGED “The Press” Special Service WELLINGTON. June 12. A move to have a research station established in the high country of North Otago—for the benefit of the whole of New Zealand —has been made. A meeting of more than 50 farmers at Tarra Hills has suggested that the status of Tarra Hills be raised from an experimental station to a full-scale research station; that representations be made to the appropriate authorities to have adequate staff appointed: and that this be* accorded urgent priority. Tarra Hills has been experimenting with a wide range of subjects for several years in an effort to assist highcountry farmers with their problems.
