STOLE SECRET DOCUMENT
CONSPIRACY CHARGE IN NEW JERSEY
(Rec. 11 p.m.) NEWARK (New Jersey), June 11. Three men .today pleaded guilty tc conspiracy charges in the theft of a secret Government document. An assistant United States attorneygeneral, Mr William Tompkins, has described the document as ‘‘of the utmost intelligence significance,” saying it contained a directory of all the United States Air Force bases and organisations throughout the world. The three men. Army Sergeant Harold Brill, and two businessmen Sydney Stern and Seymour S. Hindman, pleaded guilty. No date for sentencing was scheduled. The maximum penalty on the charges is five years in prison and a 10.000-dollar fine. The three were charged with conspiring to steal and possess a document filed in a Federal public building. No espionage charges were involved.
