General Sir Willoughby Norrie. Governor-General of New Zealand arrived in New York by air today I on his way home from 'London. He ’ was met by the New Zealand Amba*i sador to the United States (Sir Leslie Munro). His Excellency will leave tomorrow by plane for San Francisco. —New York. June 11.
Mr John Mac Naught will replace the Canadian Trade Commissioner and Commercial Counsellor in New Zealand <Mr L. S. Glass) while Mr Glass is on leave in Canada. Mr McNaught arrived in Wellington last week, accompanied by his wife and infant son. Mr Glass does not expect to return until towards the end of the year.— (P.A.)
Mr I. L. Cairns, who for the last three years has been district secretary at the Christchurch branch of the Mutual Life and Citizens’ Assurance Company, Ltd., has been appointed district man’p-r for Chr<*+chnrrh.
