ALLOWED SHEEP TO SUFFER

OWNER FINED £7/10/(New Zealand Press Association) NEW PLYMOUTH, June 11. Charged with omitting to kill a sheep that was helpless and suffering, Robert Craig Henderson, a railway employee, of New Plymouth, was fined £7 10s by Mr A. W. Yortt. S.M., in the New Plymouth Magistrate’s Court today. Henderson pleaded guilty. Senior-Sergeant A. G. Quin said that Henderson had 27 acres of land under his control. On May 26, an S.P.C.A. i inspector went 'to the property, where the defendant had 12 sheep. One was . in such a bad state that the inspector secured an authority from a Justice of the Peace to destroy it. The sheep , had obviously been in such a state for ; some by the time the inspeci tor came to execute the authority, the , sheen was dead.
