NEW BRIGHTON BAND
COMPETITION RESULTS The New Brighton Band’s annual competitions were held last evening m the New Brighton R.S.A. Hall. competitors appeared before the Judge. Mr T. J. Kirk-Burnnand, who complimented the players on the general tonal quality of their playing. The' New Brighton Band is the present holder of the Canteibury provincial C grade championship, a title which it is to defend at Akaroa in October. Under the conductorship of Mr . F Turner. the band opened proceedings last evening with a well-played contest march. Results of last night s competitions V Open Solo.—A. McEntee .81 points, 1; H Holmes. 80. 2: M. Ward. 76, 3.
