SCOUT JUBILEE CAMPAIGN
FUNDS FOR EXPANSION OF MOVEMENT Scouts and cubs in Canterbury will contribute about 221,000 pennies a year for the next three years in a
New Zealand-wide campaign to raise £50,000 for a development reserve. This is part of “Operation Jubilee.” in which the movement hopes to expand to take in all bdys who wish to join in. More leaders and extended facilities are sought. It is hoped that these objectives will be attained by 1958, the fiftieth anniversary of 1 scouting in New Zealand. the movement. At a meeting of local association treasurers in can* terbury, it was agreed that the moft convenient way of collecting contn* butions would be to increase each boy’s weekly subscription, but the money may be raised by other methods.
