PUBLIC NOTICES CHRISTCHURCH TRANSPORT BOARD. GENERAL AND SPECIAL RATES. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that at a Special Meeting of the Christchurch Transport Board, held on the sth June, 1956. the following Special Order and Resolution were passed, and that they will be submitted for confirmation at an ordinary meeting of the Board, to be held on MONDAY, the 9th day of July, 1956, at 2 p.m., at the Office of the Board, Cathedral square, Christchurch. In pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in the Christchurch Transport Board in that behalf by sections 40 and 44 of the Christchurch Tramway District Act. 1920. and all other powers it enabling, and in pursuance of a resolution passed by the Board on the 21st day of May, 1956. and the Public Notice published in the “Christchurch Press” and ' Star-Sun” "ewspapehs on the 22nd day of May. 1956, the Christchurch Transport Board hereby resolves by way of Special Order: That the Christchurch Transport Board hereby makes a General Rate of .0143034 d in the £ upon the capital value of a 1! rateable propertv in the Christchurch Tramway District, as defined by the Christchurch Tramway District Act, 1920. as amended by the Christchurch Tramway District Amendment Act. 1932-33. as the same apoears on the respective valuation rolls now in fo’-ce in the city of Christchurch, the borough of Riccarton, and the counties of Waimairi, Paparua, Heathcote and Halswell. for the period commencing on the Ist day of April. 1956, and ending on the 31st dav of March. 1957. (b) That the Christchurch Transport Board hereby directs that the said rate be levied and collected by the Christchu-ch City Council, the RicF.r r . ton • . B °rough Council, and the Waimairi, Paparua. Heathcote and Halswell County Councils respectively within their respective districts, and that the said rate be payable in one SUI P. on the days respectively appointed by the said local authorities for the pavment of rates for their respective districts. RESOLUTION RE SPECIAL RATE. In pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by section 35 of the Christchurch Tramway District Act, 1920. section 22 of the Local Bodies Loans Act, 1926, and all other powers it enab ing the Christchurch Transport Board hereby resolves:— 1- That for the period commencing on the Ist day of April, 1956. and ending on the 31st day of March, 1957: (a) The Special Rate made and levied by the Board by special order passed on the 22nd day of January, 1934. and confirmed on the 19th day of February, 1934, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on the new securities authorised to be issued by the Board under the Local Authorities Interest Reduction and Loans Conversion Act, 1932-33. and the Christchurch Tramway Board Loans Conversion Order, 1933, No. 2. m conversion of existing securities to which the said Order applied, issued m respect of the loans set out in the said Snecial Order and also the interest and other charges in the unconverted securities issued in respect of such loans be levied and collected at the rate of .0333137 d in the £ unon the rateable value on the basis of capital value of all rateable property in the CiTistchurch Tramwav District.
