OLD RANNERDALE HOME
TENDERS FOR PURCHASE TOO LOW The New Zealand Patriotic Fund Board has not yet disposed of the old 5u nn £ rda l, e Home in Papanui road. The board has offered the property including the home, outbuildings, and nearly two and three-quarter acres ot land, for sale by tender, but the secretary of the board (Mr A. R. Burge) said in Wellington yesterday that though three tenders had been received they were all too low, and the board had decided not to accept any of them. The board had not yet decided what its next move would be, he said. Members of the board, who would visit Christchurch for the opening of the new Rannerdale Home on June 30 would discuss the matter with the Rannerdale Home committee to determine tae best means of disposing of the property. Alternatives included the subdivision or auctioning of the property.
“We will have to decide fairly soon what to do,” Mr Burge said.
