SOVIET FARMING DELEGATION
VISIT TO N.Z. NEXT OCTOBER
DEPUTY-MINISTER TO BE LEADER
(New Zealand Press Association) WELLINGTON, June 8.
A party of Soviet agricultural scientists, headed by a DeputyMinister of Agriculture, will visit New Zealand in October this year, in response to an invitation from the Minister of Agriculture (Mr K. J. Holyoake). Mr Holyoake’S' invitation was extended to the Soviet authorities when he visited the Soviet Union at the end of last year. The Soviet delegation would spend about a month in New Zealand, said Mr Holyoake this evening. An itinerary was being arranged by the Department of Agriculture, in consultation with the Department of External Affairs and the Soviet Legation. The leader of the delegation will be Mr G. L Voronov.
The other members of the party will be Mr Y. I. Busurin. chief animal husbandry expert and inspector of breeding; Mr M. P. Elsukov, director of the All-Union Institute for Fodder Research; Mr L. V. Vasilyev, head of the department of sheep husbandry of the All-Union Institute for Animal Husbandry Research; and Mr N. A. Vasilyev, senior animal husbandry expert of the Ministry of State Farms. They will be accompanied by an interpreter.
