THIEVES BLOW OPEN TWO SAFES
After prising open a door on the premises of Packer and Jones. Ltd., timber merchants, of Churchill street, on Thursday evening or early yesterday morning, thieves used gelignite to blow open two safes in the office. Sacks and other waste material were used to muffle the explosions. The thieves stole £7. They are believed to be experts, as there was not a scratch on either safe.
