NORTH CANTERBURY EVENT

The Northern Agricultural and Pastoral Association’s competition for field root crops was judged recently by Messrs R. G. Jolly, R. A. Mi!ne and P. Thaine, of the Department of Agriculture, Rangiora. The results are as follows:—• Turnips (11 entries): Waimari Farm, 31$ yield tons, 68$ points, 1; Waimari Farm. 33 yield tons, 681 points, 2; A. M. Dalzell (Mount Grey Downs), 47$ < yield tons. 68 1-8 points, 3; H. Metherell (Loburn), 22$ yield tons, 64 1-8 points, 4. Fodder beet (four entries): Estate A.
