PUBLIC NOTICE Is given pursuant to the provisions of Section 8 of the “Dogs Registration. Act, 1955,’’ that at a meeting held on May 14, 1956, the Waipara County Council Resolved: "THAT the' fee payable for the registration of each dog within the County of Waipara shall be Five Shillings (ss) inclusive of the cost of the approved hydatids remedies." It is an offence to keep any unregistered dog. that is over six months of age. PREVENTION OF HYDATIDS The Waipara County Council seeks the co-operation of all dog owners in an intensified campaign to combat hydatid' disease, and urges them to treat their dogs regularly with the arecoline hvdrobromide tablets supplied for that‘purpose at the time of registration, and to take the other measures recommended for the control of hydatid disease. Leaflets containing full directions for the treatment of dogs are supplied with the tablets. APPOINTMENT OF DOG REGISTRARS For the convenience of dog owners in effecting registration and with the particular object of ensuring that treatment against hydatid disease is available for all dogs, the following Registrars hive been appointed and have undertaken to canvass the districts set against their names:— Waikari Valley, Scargill, Motunau, Omihi, Waipara. and Weka Pass: Mr G. Holders of licences issued by the Cheviot County Council may renew by post, provided the current licence is forwarded, together with the necessary fee and a stamped addressed envelope. Personal application must be made by persons holding a licence issued elsewhere. Drivers not required to produce a Medical Certificate may renew their licences for any number of years up to five. THE FEES are five shillings per year, plus one shillings and sixpence if a'new cover is required. Persons SEVENTY YEARS OF AGE OR OVER must produce a medical certificate (obtainable from the County Office) and must make an appointment for a test.
