STORAGE FALLS AGAIN
Water slorage for •'wer generation on the main South Island grid dropped by 720.000 units to 78.600.000 units in the 24 hours ended yesterday mornyesterday morning, there were frosts of 16 degrees at Lilybank station and 14 degrees at Lake Tekapo. Hard frosts were also reported at Lake Pukaki and the Hermitage. The weather in the storage areas was calm and clear.
The Christchurch office of the State Hydro-electric Department reported yesterday that the easing of restrictions and the cold weather in the last few days had resulted in heavier loading. Yesterday 3,459,020 units were used, and on Tuesday 3.328.950 units. The corresponding figures for last week were 3,115,980 units and 3.061.770 units.
