THREE-BALL ROUNDS FOR BRITISH OPEN

June 6 The championship committee of the Royal and Ancient Golf Club has decided that because of the record entry of 360 for the British open championship at Hoylake, Cheshire, the competitors in the two qualifying rounds on July 2 and 3 will play off in three-ball games.
