eries. Ltd., said the managing director (Mr H. J. Kelliher) in Auckland today. The results of the new system had proved so spectacular, said Mr Kelliher, that he was confident that it was only a matter of time before it replaced the present orthodox brewing procedure and became standard practice throughout the world. Patent protection had been granted in New Zealand. Australia. Britain, Canada, the United States, France, Belgium, Holland. Denmark. Western Germany, Switzerland, and Sweden.
The process is the work of Mr Morton W. Coutts. director in charge of production for the company. He carried out the original research and development of the new process, described by two leading Canadian brewers as ‘‘revolutionary and of tremendous importance to the entire brewing world.” Mr Coutts has specialised in fermentation research. His process produces palatable beer of much longer shelf life and stability than is customary under normal brewing methods* and produces it far more economically.
