First Returns From Gold Dredge Reconstruction of the Kaniere dredge was completed a few weeks ago. and after trial runs, it began working at Greenstone, in the Tere- ■ n:akau valley, on May 14. Frcm then until the end of May the dredge recovered 144 ounces of bullion from 158.000 cubic yards of spoit handled in 290 hours. The dredge is operated by the Kaniere Gold Dredging Company. Considerable quantities of gold were wen from the dredge's new site in the earlv days of the Kuir.ara gold boom. —iF.O.OJL)
