NORTH INLAND DOG TRIALS
TWO FINALS DECIDED (New Zealand Press Association) TE KUITI, June 7. S. Whiteman, of Taihape, with his dog Lady Gay. won the North Island long head championship with 97 points today. Second place went to G. Woollaston, also of Taihape, who gained 96 points with Boss<. Another Taihape owner. S. Steadman, gained 95J points \yith Laddie.
Steadman had earlier won with Duke, the North Island zig-zag huntaway championship. He gained 97 points out of a possible 100. Tangi, owned by E. H. Dahm, of Wanganui, was second, and Storm, owned by J. Boon (Taihape), was third.
After considerable discussion and heated arguments it was decided at the annual meeting of the North Island Sheen Dog Association last evening to try to form a New Zealand federation. Mr A. G. Stead, president of the association. outlined to the meeting the reasons for amalgamation with, the South Island, and said that the South Island association was in full agreement. Several speakers claimed that would be a greater improvement in the standard of dogs and work produced.
